Ep. 214 - Billy Boyd
Billy Boyd is best know for playing the hobbit Pippin Took in The Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson's epic trilogy. He also played Barret Bonden in the film Master and Commander with Russel Crowe, and Gerald Forbes in the huge time travel adventure, Outlander. Billy started his acting career at St Andrews Rep and the Traverse theatre, before appearing in Taggart, the films Urban Ghost Story, Dorothy and the Witches of Oz, and The Hobbit; The Battle of the Five Armies, among others, and the tv productions Empty, Moby Dick, Snowfall, Gran’s Anatomy, Hollywood, in which he portrayed Noel Coward, Doom Patrol and NCIS Hawaii. Andy Nyman is an actor and writer. As an actor, Andy has been in many films, including Black Death with Sean Bean and Eddie Redmayne, Kick Ass 2, Star Wars The Last Jedi, The Commuter with Liam Neeson, Judy, the Judy Garland film starring Rene Zellweger and Disney’s Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson, Jack Whitehall and Emily Blunt. On TV he’s been in Unforgotten, Dead Set, Ballot Monkeys, Peaky Blinders, and provides voices for Shaun the Sheep and Sarah and Duck. Andy is co-creator of the long-running horror stage-play Ghost Stories, which was nominated for two Olivier Awards and adapted in to a film in 2017 starring himself, along with Paul Whitehouse and Martin Freeman. He is the co-creator and co-writer of the television shows Derren Brown – Mind Control and Trick of the Mind. He and Derren wrote Russian Roulette, Séance, and Messiah, as well as three series of Trick of the Mind. He also co-wrote and co-directed eight of Derren’s stage shows and they were awarded the 2006 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.
