Over the years as I've grown and invested in myself and my business I've discovered a few things about 'successful' people. Successful relationships. Successful businesses. Successful parent child relationship. All have one thing in common. The most successful relationships are the ones that have been paid attention to. Example: If you don't look at your money (if you don't know where it's going) how are you going to know how to make more of it? This is a classic example of avoidance, which creates distance. I was asked this question... How do I get my tween daughters 12 & 13 to do their chores? I am tired of nagging. I am trying to delegate as I am not the family's maid (which I feel like). I am planning on returning to school next year. They each have six chores per week~feed the dog, clean downstairs bathroom, vacuum stairs.... HELP. I am beginning to feel resentful. This is my answer... Schedule a team meeting Listen to what they want - how they feel about the situation. Come up with HOW it's going to happen (the plan).
