The ego doesn't want you to be intuitive and start following the Holy Spirit, it wants you to be distracted by lots of stimulation... The whole point of "A Course in Miracles" is to start to recognize the call for love in your brothers and sisters. Because when you do, then the love in your heart will be activated and start to come through. But the ego doesn't want you to wake up, because if you wake up then the ego is out of business. So it generates many, many distractions to keep the mind away from the stillness where God is found... Judgements have become so familiar. That's what we all know in our daily lives, the chatter between friends and family. And our heart is going, "I want to get out!" The ego's use of the body, of family and education, is for reinforcing a personal separate identity. But you are Spirit and must unlearn everything the ego has taught you. Your only responsibility is accepting the correction. It is not about dropping worldly responsibilities, but having them all handed to Spirit who would address them through a path of miracles.David says the Course can be summed up in the "Serenity Prayer", recognizing what you can and cannot control and the wisdom to know the difference. What you can control is your state of mind. What you cannot control is the world, and everything associated with the world. Weekend Retreat in Tepoztlán, Mexico - Opening Circle
David greets his "new neighbors" at this opening to the retreat, and shares his joy with the community's transition to Mexico. The Course showed up as a symbol in David's life as he used it as an oracle, developing a constant dialogue with Spirit. Practicality was key and Spirit's guidance was extremely specific for David. After saying "yes" completely to Jesus, the next thirty years was easy. It's easier to collaborate than to compete.
