Yes, we’re going there: our new sermon series is all about the Holy Spirit. This week, Jake talks about who, exactly, the Holy Spirit is, finally addressing from the pulpit the question Christians have been asking for so many years: what is the one difference between the Holy Spirit and essential oils?

Maybe you feel like you’re on the outside looking in when it comes to the church – not a perfectly fitting Lego but some sort of melted or misshapen blob. Thankfully, though, you don’t have to be perfect to fit… and sometimes a shape that’s not perfect is exactly what is needed to create something beautiful. Scott explains.

It’s hard to imagine a more apt metaphor for our togetherness as a church than a family – in fact, it’s not a metaphor at all; we are a family! Jake shares the three blessings we receive as adopted children of God, and specific ways we can support our siblings in Christ.

Our new series Together starts this week! (Did you know that Arbor Church was almost “Together Church”?) Jake opens it up with a few lessons we can learn from the humble Lego.

Guest speaker Phil closes our series in Psalms with Psalm 30 and his own remarkable testimony.

Scott teaches us about Psalm 51, where David shows us how having a broken and contrite heart when asking forgiveness brings us closer to God.

“The Lord is my shepherd…” Thus begins David’s 23rd Psalm, one of the most oft-quoted and beloved Psalms in the Bible; a comfort to martyrs, cited by presidents, simple enough for a child, yet full of theological depth. Garrett helps us understand the rich imagery in this beautiful poem.

David’s Psalm 140 and Psalm 141 mirror each other, and both teach us about the awful power of tongue. Some words are helpful; some words are hurtful–but all words are consequential.

Today we go back with Scott to very first chapter of Psalms, which centers around the power of God’s word – the best self-help book ever written.
