114: Programming Your Ideal Metabolic Rhythm
Your body’s best digestive and metabolic work happens in the daylight hours. The later you eat, the more you risk acid reflux, fat storage, poor sleep and compromised detoxification. That means that the late night snack, glass of wine or random handful off the kitchen counter can really throw your body systems out of whack. In this week’s podcast we’re talking about the key ways to best program your metabolism, what technically breaks a fast and how long you should fast for weight loss. For more information and to access the show notes for this episode, visit my website here: https://www.thechristiannutritionist.com/podcast/114

112: Reasons to Use an Animal-Based Therapeutic Diet
Animal-based diets may fly in the face of modern plant-centric nutrition, but we can’t deny that it is often the therapeutic approach that sends people on their path to healing. When we look at therapeutic diet options like Paleo, Keto, Carnivore, The GAPS Diet, Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), FODMAPS, Low Oxalate Diet, Low Nightshade Diet, the Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP), the Low Salicylate Diet, the Candida Diet - what they all have in common is an elimination of plant foods. Plants can be healing, but they can also be harmful. For some people, the fiber, sugar or defense compounds in plant foods can be the trigger that wrecks the gut or inflames the immune system. The best diet is always a Real Foods diet but, sometimes, we have to tweak the balance within the plant and animal Kingdoms to support the body for its best healing. Listen to this week’s podcast to learn why a period of less plant foods may be a jumpstart to better health.
