Dairy and the Raw Food Diet

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS Pure Vitamin Club Villa Cappelli MEGAN'S JOB Megan works in a piercing salon She does not recommend gauges Vinnie thinks that someone without gauges would get easily hired over someone with gauges (who makes bad decision) Vinnie will discriminate The nonconformist would be the one without piercings and tattoos WHICH FOODS SHOULD BE EATEN RAW (vegan) FOR THE BEST NUTRITIONAL VALUE? Vinnie thinks raw food diet is fine however it can be dangerous (low blood sugar) Definitely a correct way to do it -- must be constantly eating to get enough Light steam on veggies is not a bad idea for nutrition & consumption Meat should be cooked for best nutritional value WHAT ABOUT DAIRY? Megan is a sugar addict -- when she adds generous amounts (1/4 cup) of heavy cream to coffee (1 or 2 cups), she doesn't crave sugar or get that hungry How much cream is too much cream? Vinnie doesn't see an issue with this If this is keeping Megan away from sugar and other issues, it's ok Try lessening amount slightly, but if not it isn't the end of the world

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS Villa Cappelli Pure Vitamin Club SPINAL TAP American movie with Stonehenge in it Bad British accents, but great entertainment value STEVE AS A BODYBUILDER Steve is more than just a fan He has been a bodybuilder since he was 17 years old He was quite built for his age, too big for English sports Steve had a coach who provided him with a gym and the means to get bigger and better to play rugby and football and short distance sprinting 13.5 for a 100m sprint and improved Eventually got into body building and went for that VINNIE'S BOOK Steve related to Vinnie in his book, working hard in the gym in the bayou Listened to it on audio and it inspired him to write to Vinnie Steve feels for Vinnie who got bullied as a young athlete Both had disproportionate leg strength LOMBARDIAN COACHING Coach for the Green Bay Packers "practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect" "winning is not everything, it's the only thing" Vinnie grew up with this style of coaching Not everyone is a winner-- Vinnie personally thinks this is the way to think Work on your weakest parts the most BODY & ENGINES Bodies and engines of cars are kind of similar There's a big lump of metal, but something different going on different inside each one Steve wanted to know how things worked on the inside -- both cars, and the bodies of humans Vinnie both built cars and got to dissect cadavers PERSONAL TRAINING Steve and his wife both personal train This is a side job -- started with people in the gym always asking advice His business built from word of mouth Steve only works with a handful of clients, but tailors his service to whomever needs it Each penny that his clients spend counts, so Steve makes sure to give people real service Vinnie is still surprised by how many people call often for training and life advice

Strengthening Your Lower Body
Vinnie Tortorich and co host Andy Schreiber talk strengthening one's lower body, and riding bicycles through sand on today's Wednesday edition of the Angriest Trainer podcast. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS Pure Vitamin Club ANDY'S WORKOUT Andy is trying to get abs so Vinnie went with Andy to help guide him on the best work outs to get abs Andy wasn't doing any lower body (Vinnie thinks lower body is more important) Working on lower body improves circulation Leg presses, Lunges, Leg curls all good to help one's lower body Use the smith machine -- Andy doesn't need to do free weight squats For lunges, one can use the wall to balance Look down in front of you in the mirror to help your balance Leg presses (12-15 reps) Leg curls and leg extensions aren't important unless you are trying to get "bulgy" ANDY'S FALL When Andy first starting using cleats to ride his bike, he had a fall He lends it to not being accustomed to cleats along with going to fast on a windy, sandy road by the beach Vinnie saw it happen -- he fell in slow motion For Andy, by the time he realized he would fall, it was too late If you think you will slip in sand, look up and keep going

Working Out and Eating Right

Stabilize yourself and don't start with a bar for squats In the gym, start with lunges, do light leg presses, let your legs get used to it Take your time -- don't feel any pressure to push yourself too far HCG DIET There was a "diet" shot that made you less hungry and easier to gain muscle Gonadotropin was taken from pregnant mares, and body builders used to do it but we could female-like breasts HCG = human choieonic gonadotropin This is not safe or effective Consumers should stay clear of weight loss products with this in it THYROID MEDICATION You only take a little of porcine thyroid This way, your body will still produce hormones that it needs to Any hormone (steroid) that you take will make your body stop producing that hormone which is bad WEIGHT LOSS AND FRUIT Fruit is not the best to lose weight By all means, eat it, eat berries, but fruit prevents weight loss if you have a poor metabolic system Bananas and pineapples are such straight sugar Vegetables are better! Getting Lean and Staying Fit
Vinnie Tortorich answers listener questions from George Ramler concerning getting lean and fitness in general on today's Saturday edition of the Angriest Trainer podcast. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSOR Pure Vitamin Club HOW GEORGE FOUND VINNIE George doesn't completely remember, however he is a big audiobook listener He then found the podcast George refers many people to both the book and the diet He's a former football player (D3) but he wants to get lean like Vinnie which is part of the reason he follows Vinnie so seriously HOW CAN A GUY LIKE GEORGE LEAN OUT BUT ALSO STAY BIG? George was a tightend, 6'4", 225 lbs He now weighs 245 and is in pretty good shape but wants to get lean He wants to lose 15 lbs In football, it was all about being big to stay safe "Fear of smallness" after stopping playing football Ex Football players have to accept that they will lose a little size (not muscle size, muscles can look bigger) There are many guys who aren't in shape but are very strong, built One must consider: Fit to do what? Vinnie feels that George will still be as strong even if he were to lose 30 lbs IF ONE IS CARRYING A BIG BODY AROUND, IS IT HARDER TO STAY HEALTHY LONG TERM? It depends on one's BMI, not on one's sheer size You can still live a long, successful life COULD VINNIE EVER DO A MUSCLE UP? A muscle up is where one does a pull up, pulls oneself over the bar, and dips Vinnie could do this in college even when he weighed 230 lbs Vinnie was in the gymnasium all the time as a physical education major so Vinnie could even do an Iron Cross IF ONE WANTS TO LEAN OUT, DOES ONE NEED TO BE INCREDIBLY STRICT WITH THE DIET? You do not need to be in ketosis If you are eating veggies, some fruit, and meat, your body will pack on lean muscles This will improve one's workout You have to completely commit to this diet to achieve goals such as George's An NSNG meet up where Vinnie goes to his fans may be on the horizon...
