American Airlines: A Series of Horrible Events - Episode 859
: Episode 859 - Vinnie and Andy discuss their horrible recent trip with American Airlines, the utter disrespect they experienced, and more on this Wednesday edition of the podcast. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSOR Pure Vitamin Club AMERICAN AIRLINES Vinnie and Andy were coming back from Philly this past Friday They were in Philly taking meetings regarding Pure Coffee Club Received automated call from AA 4.5 hours before the flight reporting the flight cancellation Rebooked automatically to a flight at 5am the next morning with a stopover This would have totally messed with Vinnie's schedule Vinnie has trouble scheduling 1 on 1s as it is, and this affected that Called and switched their flight to a flight 2 hours after the call was made Went straight to the airport, got to the gate on time Around 230 they began to make changes Delayed 30 minutes to begin with, changed gates, etc DISASTER Flight gets delayed, delayed, delayed The passengers never get a real reason as to why the flight is delayed Nobody seems to want to help them Help would disappear as soon as announcements were made Time is ticking on and nothing is happening Nobody seemed to know anything Eventually, they tell everyone to run to a different place to get help THAT line was monstrously long Depending on who you spoke to, there was different news Vinnie wanted to make sure that his ticket would work the next day Flight cancelled, passengers rebooked on different flights (midnight or so that they made this call) Vinnie on 8am flight, Andy on later flight They said people could go to baggage claim and wait HOURS for their baggage before their flight the next morning Refused to offer hotels to people Said everything was totally booked Man said that he did not have enough diapers - diapers were in checked baggage Woman did not believe that he even had kids "I don't know what to tell you" They set up cots, but not nearly enough for everyone Not even all women, children, elderly had cots People got no sleep Folks strewn around the airport trying to catch any sleep Vinnie treated very badly by police officer Overall, HORRIBLE experience with American Airlines NO COMPENSATION, NO HOTEL, NO ANSWERS! Vinnie fortunately has documentation of this entire disastrous experience
