This episode of Breaking Goodman covers Season 3 episode 7 of Better Call Saul titled “Expenses”. Absolutely nothing is working for Jimmy in this episode. Everything he is used to counting on to get him in and out of situations in his life is just not working. His charm, his ability to bullshit, his car, his girl… nothing is working for him. Jimmy is slipping into Saul with every moment. Meanwhile we see Nacho and Mike again working together to take down a common enemy. This episode of Breaking Goodman covers season 3 episode 5 of Better Call Saul titled “Chicanery.” This episode spent most of its time in the courtroom, a place we actually haven’t been much in this show. Chicanery furthers the divide between Jimmy and his brother Chuck, whom we don’t see at all in Breaking Bad. At this point its hard to say how much of a relationship is left, but hopefully we are not done with the fantastic Michael McKean. This episode of Breaking Goodman covers Season 3 Episode 4 of Better Call Saul titled “Sabrosito”. Most of this episode felt like a cut scene from Breaking Bad. We are filling out not just the Better Call Saul story, but expanding even more on the Breaking Bad-verse while we’re at it. Some will complain that Gus is overshadowing things, but I really have no issue. I’ll trust the writers know what they’re doing. So often in Breaking Bad I felt like they wrote themselves into corners they couldn’t possibly escape or top, but then they did. Jimmy has a fun line about the rule of thirds here. Makes me think that this show might start splitting screen time in that way as well between Gus, Mike, and Jimmy. Thank to Brian and Michael for the insight and laughs! This episode of Breaking Goodman covers Season 3 Episode 2 of Better Call Saul titled “Witness.” We get our first look at new character that works at a chicken restaurant. Didn’t catch his name, but he seems like he could be important. Might even be the mastermind behind some stuff. Time will tell! We also get to see the best laid plans of both Chuck and Mike go awry in the best and worst way. Michael Henly was off this week and so was Mike Marbach, though she still hosted. We are back for the Season 3 premiere of Better Call Saul! This episode, titled “Mabel”, has us picking up right where we left off in Season 2. This episode was more checking in with a bit of set-up for things to come. Chuck is up to no good and looks to be ready to get down in the dirt. This episode of Breaking Goodman covers the second season finale of Better Call Saul titled, “Klick”. Fantastic finale for a great season of Better Call Saul. There’s been some talk of this show being “better” than Breaking Bad. I’m not sure I’m in that camp just yet, but this season sure as hell made a good case for it. Lots going on in this finale that both knocks down some dominoes and sets others up. The show has been renewed for a third season and by extension, so have we! We will be doing a Season Two Wrap-up episode and possibly some one-off here and there in the off season.
