A solid start to the earnings season

Global equities bounced back on Friday, buoyed by strong earnings reports from leading US banks. The S&P 500 wrapped up the week at a fresh all-time high. Meanwhile, Chinese equities started the week on a mixed note after news on China's fiscal stimulus was light on details. With a plethora of company reports, US retail sales data, and the ECB rate decision on the horizon, this week is shaping up to be particularly eventful.
