Central bank hikes and hawkish outlooks dent sentiment

After a number of rate hikes from major central banks last week and officials drilling home the message that rates will go higher until they’re confident that inflation is under control, all the major indices in the US and Europe fell on Friday. Leaders in China have said they’ll focus on boosting their economy next year, and European Union member states will meet today to discuss the proposal of a much lower gas-price cap.
