Listener Question: What Does Going "Unconditional" Mean, And How Does It Fit Into the Property Buying Process? | Ep. 267

In this episode, we discuss what going unconditional means. This is a question received from George who is based in Queenstown. 

We explain that there are four steps involved in purchasing a property:

• 1. Put a property under contract. This gives you the right to purchase the property at a specific price, subject to you feeling comfortable that you should buy the property
• 2. Do due diligence to work through the clauses you need to satisfy yourself of in order to purchase the property
• 3. Go "Unconditional" where you confirm that you will purchase the property and there are no further conditions. This is when you are locked in and you have to purchase the property. 
• 4. Settle the property and pay the balance of the purchase price through your lawyer
