"I was probably, you know, one of those kids that myself as a parent would likely steer my kids away from," he says. "There is a side of me that is like super pessimistic, super skeptical, cynical." He doesn't think it's this thing where at some point in his young adulthood or a young life things are going to be great because they are great. But I think it was all about just trying to survive and navigate", the singer adds.
