The I Can't Attitude is a real red flag, isn't it? It's convenient to basically tell some student here that they lack talent because they're not willing and able to make progress. The belief that you're not going to get better almost needs to be changed before it really makes sense for the teachers and the students to invest in this gradual progress of getting better. Having good metrics so the student can really see how they're getting better is really key.
