The foundation upon which happiness is built then to a degree. The thing is with the gratitude exercises to make sure that they are really specific to that day. And then to keep doing that gratitude exercise every evening for at least 21 days, if not longer. When you start to notice yourself going into your day looking for things to be grateful for, like, Oh, I could put that in my journal later. That's when you know that it's starting to work.
