How to Deal With Anxiety and Depression

I was just talking with someone yesterday and I hear this all the time. One thing I hear so often is people contact me for therapy and they say, "I've always been depressed or I've always been a very anxious person" So it feels like you're being victimized in a way, but at the same time it's not something that just has to remain that way. It's really because of the way the mind and body and the layers of the brain are set up that you can't use your thoughts and sheer will to stop emotions from happening.
