Self compassion based mindfulness has been incredibly transformative in helping me just be more kind to myself. As a high performing individual, like many academics are, that was very much my story. And I know now that I get to teach self compassion work to parents that it often can be very painful and very difficult to turn the same love and compassion that we offer to our children inward towards ourself.
