How Do You Define a Survey?

I am a pragmatist about surveys. I would not, could not describe myself as a survey mathodologist,. But what was that i obsessively tried to find all the academic literature and books written on forms. To this day, i have one small bookshelf in my office which is pretty much everything i could find. And so i found buckets of really interesting and useful literature in the world of surveys. That helped me in my work on forms. One thing led to another. Then my mentor, jinny reddish, told me that i had to write a book on surveys. And then here we are.
