The Political Consolidation of Power in the Islamic Republic
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is founded the Sepah Paz-Daran in February 1979. The IRPR worried about the fact that they don't really yet have any kind of military wing right so there's not going to be any concern about lingering loyalties to the Shah. Homanian is worried and and the members of the IRPR are mostly clerics but also include Marxist Fedoyan who had some of the last shootouts with the military right.
