Hanover was incorporated into the possessions of great britain after 17 14. The stuarts got significant support, at certain times, from spain and russia. They appealed to quite a lot of non catholic powers including prussia and sweden. But we kind of write hanover out of british history but it was actually as much a part of britain as wiltshire inin 17 50.
