The Role of Exercise in Motivation and Emotion
Exercise is turning on all of these things. We're talking about exercise, it's from motivation to memory to attention. And I think for us to take advantage of the world and be more quote adaptive, which means that we can learn and use things in the world better than more we exercise the better we are. A number of studies show that introducing exercise three or four times a week for a pretty good clip, 40 minutes or so, but getting the people moving, not just walking, but getting them to the point where they're sweating, moderate exercise. If you do that, you're getting the same effect as you would your Prozac and all those others.
