Jacobinism and the King's Exclusion

The jacobite movement started when James the second was removed from the throne in 16 88. They wanted a different constitutional settlement and a different religious settlement, catholicism back in ireland, episcopalianism back in scotland and english. The whole ethos of ulsterunnism descends ultimately from the conflict of 16 89 91, which defeated the jacobites in ireland.
