In 1991, the American Academy of Pediatrics put a position paper out that said the foot develops best barefoot. That if we're going to choose shoes, we need to choose shoes that mimic barefoot. Kids feet sweat five times more than adults feet, for example. The key here is this: I want you to run pain free. And it shouldn't hurt because you live in New York City and don't walk around barefoot.
