The Effects of Alcohol on the Brain
Alcohol is a depressant and then something happens inside you to counteract the depressant yeah. The brain seeks to counteract it by reducing stimulants so that's basically the overriding structure of it. Over time we become more and more proficient at creating these stress hormones and drugs and releasing them to counteract the alcohol. That's one of the reasons I think it takes so long to become alcoholic because it's reliant on this process that the brain is going through.
