You Can't Get Short Run Compliance, Right?
i i begin by acknowledging that the one thing a punishment or reward can sometimes get, not always, but sometimes, is mindless compliance in the short run. But far more importantly, it leads people to do inferior work, to be more self centred and to lose interest in things they use to find pleasurable. And on the others, flip side, if you use rewards, like stickers, stars, you know, gold stars, desert praise, whatever, that hasn't improved. It's no law. It's still not a caring alliance. It's now the parent is tis like a giant goody dispenser on legs. The point is to pretend you're doing everything right,
