What Does Caffeine Do?
A power nap is somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes. We don't exactly know why it restores you as much as it does. It might have to do with kind of sodium potassium signaling at the cells. If you wake up out of a slower, slow wave sleep, more deep sleep, you can feel groggy. So mostly I try to avoid naps because I'd rather just go to bed earlier.
