The Icarus Moment
Ben Cohen says we're at an Icarus moment in our society. It's the return of hubris as ancient Greeks conceived it, a pride where strong delight and attempts to shame weak. Our politics are now completely consumed by trope and fiat news such that our identities as Democrats or Republicans no longer have recognizable meaning. Ben goes on to say my guess is that 80% of investment research and management jobs in the financial services sector will be gone in less than 20 years.
