i grew up in a very stoic, amnortic household. There was no discussion of emotions,. No, very little expression of emotions and so and actually in psychology at the time, there was very little study of emotions either. I mean, it was just not a target of scholarly work in the twentieth century. Until the late eighties, i mean, it had been sort of part of psychology at the initial get go. With william james, behaviorism kind of shut the door on internal experiences as being a legitimate focus of study.
