How to Stop Hunger and Craving
When fat is broken down for fuel, you have these amazing compounds called ketones. They are our body's alternative source to make fuel in the little mitochondria I spoke about earlier. Ketones can also fuel the body and they will just hop straight over into the brain across the blood brain barrier. So really, what we want to make sure is that the brain is fueled. It's got the raw ingredients to make the energy it needs at all times. And so if we can keep our brains sharp through being metabolically flexible, i.e. when we eat something that causes a blood sugar bump, then our body just mops it up and uses it for fuel.
