The Importance of Scaling Up at Blackstone
At what point does size become the enemy? It sounds like you can scale up by partnering with lots of other PE firms. Is there a ceiling? Or at what point do you look at something and say, hey, that's just too big to try and take a bite? I think the biggest deal that's been done in the last 10 years is around $30 billion. But we prefer to buy things on our own, just Blackstone, with our limited partners.
