Compliance officers raised alarms, but their warnings were treated as noise while executives chased profits. Instead of dropping Epstein after his 2008 conviction, JPMorgan rolled out the red carpet, proving that “risk management” really meant protecting revenue streams, not society.
When the scandal finally broke, the bank acted stunned, as though Epstein’s activities had somehow been invisible all along.
