The Importance of Complexity in Games
Everything I wanted to do with the game was based on building an accessible game for people, especially Marines. All games have what we call underlying schemas or mental models that undercut them. A good game will make all those same kind of your simplifications and abstractions but they put them and place them in just the right way where you don't even think about them. They invoked your sense of like liminal, like disbelief, right? Like the notion that you are so inhabited in the world and the game doesn't make you think about the game that exists outside the of the experience that is providing you.
