Maximize Your Heart Rate
If you're 25, you should be at like 195 beats per minute at your max. Maximum heart rate is roughly 220 minus your age. As we age, our heart rate slows a little bit and that takes more demand on stroke volume in order to maintain the same cardiac output. A fit individual's heart rate is lower at any given workload so that the heart isn't having to beat as rapidly in order to pump blood through the system.
