The Battle of Inverness
Colodon was fought to contest the road into invernes. The jacobites relied on being not a guerrilla army, but a fast moving army. They didn't have horses and couldn't drag their supplies around with them endlessly. So effectively, cavalry armed was absolutely critical to winning the battle. Do we know how many? How many people were involved in the battle? We so they're probably just under five thousand jacsobites and round eight thousand british regulars.
