Next, they talked about Trump’s recently confirmed cabinet picks including Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. And Tulsi Gabbard and Director of National Intelligence. From the Talk and Text Line, Joe and Bill discussed if the Trump administration is the most pro-corruption, one due to pardons like former New York City Mayor Eric Adams and former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Next, they talked about the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction race coming up on the following Tuesday and why it mattered. They discussed whether she could do the job. They also talk about the MPS Golda Mair school having traces of lead. Plus, MPS’s new comptroller may have already exited the position. -AJ quickly touched on MPS’s looming deadline regarding school resource officers. They also discussed the lack of primary for the race unlike the last State Supreme Court race in 2023. A clip from Susan Crawford was [played regarding her role in a case regarding Voter ID; Matt and Tracy discussed. Next, they discussed abortion and the candidates' stances on the issue. Crawford received an endorsement from Planned Parenthood. Tracy also asked Matt about recusal for both candidates on different issues. Schimel also received an endorsement from U.S. President Donald Trump, or rather from Elon Musk; a clip of Schimel’s thoughts on the endorsement was played and Tracy and Matt discussed. They shift gears to another election; the State Superintendent race that is challenging the controversial incumbent Jill Underly. On February 18th, the Wisconsin State Budget was set to be released.
