Two Wisconsin Elections to Pay Attention to in April - Full Show

WTMJ fill-in host Tracy Johnson was joined by WISN Channel 12 political reporter Matt Smith, and they began by discussing the upcoming Wisconsin State Supreme Court race, between Brad Schimel and Susan Crawford. They also discussed the lack of primary for the race unlike the last State Supreme Court race in 2023. A clip from Susan Crawford was [played regarding her role in a case regarding Voter ID; Matt and Tracy discussed. Next, they discussed abortion and the candidates' stances on the issue. Crawford received an endorsement from Planned Parenthood. Tracy also asked Matt about recusal for both candidates on different issues. Schimel also received an endorsement from U.S. President Donald Trump, or rather from Elon Musk; a clip of Schimel’s thoughts on the endorsement was played and Tracy and Matt discussed. They shift gears to another election; the State Superintendent race that is challenging the controversial incumbent Jill Underly. On February 18th, the Wisconsin State Budget was set to be released.
