New Year, New Word. (The Edge)

Kelly and Chip start the new year with their tradition of assigning a word of the year to set the intention. They discuss why they do this instead of doing New Year's resolutions: "Resolution setting has an old frequency and comes from a place of lack." They both discuss how they saw last year's words play out in their lives and how the vibe has completely shifted moving forward into a new year.  Chip also reveals that he has met someone....   Follow Kelly: @velvetsedge  Follow Chip: @chipdorsch Email: theedge@velvetsedge.com  Follow Velvet's Edge on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/velvetsedge/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How To Move Forward Energetically in 2023 (the Velvet)

With so much change happening in our world the past few years, Master Astrologer, Marvin Wilkerson joins Kelly to discuss the way feminine energy will impact and rebuild our future. Marv explains that feminine energy is inside each of us, both men and women, and how the suppression of that energy built the world of the past and how the future depends on understanding and embracing that energy. "We can't go back, so we've got to move forward in a new way." Kelly and Marv discuss the handling of football player, Damar Hamlin's injury during Monday Night Football was the perfect example of our cultures shift into feminine over masculine energy and how the compassion and empathy that was embraced is a part of that. Marv breaks down "Asteroid Goddesses" that are both mythological and astrological and how that energy applies to each of our astrology charts, reminding listeners that an astrology chart is the map of your life. Marv explains that our sun signs, which is the typical pop culture reference to astrology, are actually just a tiny portion of how astrology works in our lives. He gives Kelly a breakdown of her goddess energy and she is shocked by how spot on the description is to her, especially relationally. They also discuss ways to use your sexual energy in creativity in your life.  Email: marvin@astromarv.com Website: astromarv.comFollow Velvet's Edge on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/velvetsedge/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Kelly's Favorite Conversations: Ways To Find Peace Through Pain with Singer/Songwriter Blessing Offor (The Edge)

Many of you may know singer/songwriter, Blessing Offor, as the outstanding vocalist who sang so strongly he had all four judges turn their chairs around. Although his talent is something only dreams are made of, it's his sroty of hardship and then his positive outlook on life that makes him the magnetic human that he is. Blessing was born without vision in his left eye and lost vision in his right eye in an accident as a young boy. To most, this would be a tragedy hard to recover from, for Blessing it was his call to channel that hardship into purpose. "If you told me I had the chance to do that moment (losing vision in his right eye) all over again, I would say, where do I stand? I would do it exactly as it happened, because that moment is the moment that shaped me into who I am today." Blessing talks about the one question he asks himself when he is having a hard time or bad day/moment: "We put so much energy into what's wrong, like the traffic, and what I know is that it's never really about the traffic. There is always something deeper that's actually going on." His favorite quote:"Grief carves a canyon, so that joy can overflow it." And the best tidbit his therapist ever pointed out to him about the human condition: "Sitting with yourself is a truly POWERFUL thing." Blessing also tells Chip and Kelly about his musical inspirations, new music coming up and where listeners can go on the journey with him. website: blessingoffor.com  socials: @blessingoffor  Follow Kelly: @velvetsedge  Follow Chip: @chipdorsch Email: theedge@velvetsedge.comFollow Velvet's Edge on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/velvetsedge/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
