The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Chapter 13
Welcome back to The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance. In this section, Alyx mentions Renarin and her RP group, Sydney Scroungers, in the first two minutes. If you don't know Alyx, well, I need to tell you something. She really, really likes Renarin. You know how Wit enjoys mockery so much? Alyx loves Renarin even more, and while you think I'm joking, well... you just keep listening to Splintercast and I think you'll see I am not at all.
Here we listen to the second Eshonai interlude, and then we move into the first two chapters of Part Two! Enjoy!
As always, there are spoilers for these chapters, obviously. Kind of challenging to react to what is happening without giving away what occurs.

The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Interlude 2
We have a treat for you today. Our illustrious and radiant (see what I did there?) Alyx, also known as FeatherWriter, is doing a very special podcast series where she records her live reactions as she reads Words of Radiance for the very first time. There is crying. There is sobbing. Fangirling. Descent into sleep-deprived madness. It's everything you'd ever want from a reaction podcast, and I guarantee 40% more people will fall in love with her than before (in which case, back off.).
So how The Splintercast Reads is going to work is that Alyx records her reactions and edits out the silence. If you were wondering how she could go so fast through a chapter, that's because of Hollywood magic. Or at least basic sound editing skills. Same thing.
In today's entry--and we will be posting these daily--Alyx finishes Part One and does the second interlude. Since she read the sample chapters and wants these reactions to be of her first reading, she's skipped the samples in this series. But absolutely everything else will be recorded for you to hear, love, and of course, lovingly mock.
So, without further adieu, I introduce you to the Splintercast. And where does it start? Well, the infamous chapter 7, of course:
(Obviously, this will have spoilers for the chapters that are being discussed!)

The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Intro and Chapter 7

The Shardkeepers Podcast Episode 1: Q&As
Welcome to the brand-new Shardkeepers Podcast! No, it's not where keep all the shards of glass to ourselves (still, you can't have them, they are our weapons), it's where we, the Sharders, are also the Keepers of knowledge. Like that Terris order, we're here to edjumacate you about... stuff. Or something.
I'm not doing a very good job of selling this one. Let's try again.
Welcome to Shardkeepers, our theory podcast. If you want theories on the cosmere, you've come to the right place. If you don't want theories, well, you can go, but watch for the shattered glass on the way out. We have Kerry (KChan), David (Windrunner), me, and some other guy! Oh wait, that's Josh (Rubix), not just a talking head. Oops! My mistake! (Sorry Josh, we love you!) Together, we form a theorytastic Voltron which is missing a head, because, hey, you need five for a Voltron. So we're headless, but you know, we have to keep up the Shardcast tradition.
On our inaugural episode, we're going to do things a bit differently. We want each episode to tackle a specific theory, topic, or problem, and we will set out to (possibly) solve that problem. But, there's been just so many signings with the A Memory of Light tour, our forum Q&A, and the recent AMA on Reddit that we have to talk about it.
But we aren't going to simply read you quotes, there is a ton of theorizing going on. We discuss open some doors to the Dor (that pun will never get old) and finally have a coherent theory about what it is, how the Letter's author is pretty much confirmed, and some excellent Odium stuff. Listen on how Josh will surely get flamed, as well as Shashara's "sister". And how I was totally caw-blocked at the end of the podcast.
Obviously, there will be cosmere spoilers for pretty much... everything. Mistborn, Way of Kings, Elantris. This is the ultra-theoretical podcast, so you should expect that.

Attempting to Read Elantris, Episode 4
Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas and happy Random Winter Solstice Holiday. Are you getting stabbed in the face? Perhaps the gut? No? You humans have such strange winter rituals. I, Inquisitor Santa, give Scadrial with far superior offerings. At least, to the most brutal of taskmasters, who constantly whip the skaa (what you would call "the Nice list".)
But I have a busy night of people to kill and Hemalurgic spikes to grant people, so you Earthlings will simply have to live (or die, heh) with the ramblings of three other Earthlings. They discuss some "Pokemon" thing, and then there is a pale imitation of God's (Ruin's) voice, which is then referred to as "Batman". Bats are not menacing, lowly humans. Get it right. Oh, and this place called Elantris is discussed.

Attempting to Read Elantris, Episode 3
It's one Rosharan week later (actually two, whatever), so it's time for some Shardcast, and this time it's Episode Three: Revenge of the Plot. Yes, in chapters 7-9, some inklings of the plot actually happened, so of course Eric got bored and read the rest of the book. And, as such, has no idea what happened in the actual triad we were discussing.
We solve many mysteries this week, like who is Mi'chelle's sister? Will Eric get shanked? Why is Josh invading someone's box? What did Eric do to need to be censored? (Okay, we don't really solve that last one. That's why it's censored.)
Because really, what more could ask from Shardcast than such edgy humor like that? Oh, right, racism. Well, we have that too.
Click on, open the door to the Dor and find out the answers you seek.

Attempting to Read Elantris, Episode 2
Two weeks, in a row. For reals. We're here. We're discussing lore in Elantris, chapters 4-6. Can we make it interesting when it's all setup? Do you like talking about Jindoeese food? How many cannibal jokes can we make? Will they be better or worse than the meat jokes? Will you imagine a shirtless Hrathen fighting a giant lizard?
You be the judge.
The answer: we make fun of Mi'ch being really bad at pronouncing Fjordell names.
Also, we're pleased to say that Dragonmount.com is back online now. At the time of the recording it wasn't. Good job guys for getting through that attack! You make our server look like a broken dam.
Spoilers: Again, there's Elantris spoilers (duh), slight discussion of Emperor's Soul, and some talk of Odium.

Attempting to Read Elantris, Episode 1
We're back, and better (allegedly) than ever! We're switching it up, and now the main Shardcast will be our podcast where we go reading through each book. No, we aren't narrating every book--we know, you're sad--but Mi'ch, Josh, and Eric are here to give you commentary on the books, annotations, and everything! And try to make it entertaining, somehow. This episode's entertainment comes from meat. Vegetarians need not apply. You'll see.
Starting off Season 1 of Shardcast, we will be reading through Elantris, and shockingly, we start at the beginning of that book, and go through Chapter 3. There's arguing about who is our favorite character, discussion of mold, beheadings, all leading up to what is surely the literal recording of the sound the Reod made. It is horrifying, because that's what Shardcast is all about. Apparently.
Quick disclaimer: if you are adamantly opposed to light innuendo, maybe sit this one out? We'll be better next time. It's all Josh and Eric's fault.
Spoiler Warning: Obviously, there will be Elantris spoilers, but we also go into a light Emperor's Soul discussion, a small Way of Kings spoiler, and slight Mistborn spoilers.
