An Estate Planning Attorney’s Perspective of the Britney Spears Conservatorship

Oops, we did it again–we are talking about Britney Spears on the podcast. In the last couple of weeks, Britney Spears’ conservatorship has gained lots of attention after “Framing Britney Spears,” a new documentary by The New York Times, was released on FX and Hulu. With all of the hype around the new documentary, Brent and Rachel were eager to sit down with Joe Ferrucci to talk about the Britney Spears conservatorship. They discuss how Britney’s conservatorship started and the current court battles, how a conservatorship can be imposed on an individual and the judicial safeguards that are in place, and even dive into the crazy conspiracy theories regarding Britney’s conservatorship. Joe Ferrucci is a hands-on California trusts and estates attorney with more than a decade of experience.  He regularly assists his clients with estate planning related not only to ordinary wills and revocable living trusts, but also sophisticated estate planning strategies with respect to gift tax, estate tax and the generation-skipping transfer tax.  He has experience establishing and administering irrevocable gift trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and charitable trusts.  He also advises clients on real property matters and Prop 13 property tax planning.
