Episode 1453 - NYCC: Greg Pak!
Jimmy went to New York Comic Con (NYCC) last week and got about 12 interviews and 1 press room. Producer Joe even got an interview in! In this episode, you'll hear from Greg Pak but it WASN'T at NYCC! Greg and Jimmy decided to chat post-NYCC away from the madness. They met in Central Park here in NYC and had a lovely chat about Greg's prolific work on comics like DARTH VADER, MECH CADETS, WHO BELONGS? DEADLY HANDS OF KUNG-FU, CITY BOY, etc. They also talked about the Netflix animated series MECH CADETS based on his comics, the Amadeus Cho action figure and his photography. Jimmy had met (well re-met) Sarah last year in the UK at the Thought Bubble festival but only recently read her work. (That she had kindly gifted to him. BAD JIMMY!). VICIOUS CREATURES is one of the most incredible and beautiful graphic novels he has read in a long time. They discuss the book, inspirations, expressly detailed art style, use of color, when she realized she loved horror, making grotesque things beautiful, Mr. Blobby, Adam Ant and so much more. Episode 1449 - NYCC: Slayers: A Buffyverse Story!
Jimmy went to New York Comic Con (NYCC) last week and got about 12 interviews and 1 press room. Producer Joe even got an interview in! In this episode, Jimmy covered the press room for Audible's new audio original series SLAYERS: A BUFFYVERSE STORY. Many of the original BTVS cast are back to do the voices. In this room were Amber Benson, Christopher Golden, Charisma Carpenter, Emma Caulfield Ford, James Marsters, James Charles Leary, Juliet Landau and newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes. Everyone was so happy to return to their roles and play in the familiar world. Super fun time! BAD SOUND WARNING! Attention: No idea why or how but there was a lot of interference during the press room. We're so upset as it was such a joyful time. Producer Joe was going to scrap it but we thought we should at least let the loyal fans hear what they can and decide if they want to bear with the technical problems. Massive apologies.
