The night of the Uvalde massacre, Michael gave his first televised response to a mass shooting in over a decade. And what he said was so powerful, and so truthful, it frightened Democrats who are afraid to go all the way to stop this madness. It frightened Republicans so much, one their craziest, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), took to the House floor this week to denounce Michael by name during the debate on possible new gun laws. What did he say? Just the same thing over a hundred million Americans were already thinking but nobody on TV was saying. Last week we blinked and opened our eyes to a vision of a different world. A nightmare foretold is to become our future — a U.S. citizen who becomes pregnant can be stripped of their bodily autonomy and forced, by the U.S. government, to give birth. Attempt to abort the fetus, and you can be charged with murder. The idea of that reality is draconian and horrific.
