- Are exploring new frontiers in society or their field

Since this group of people are already out on the edge, traditional information doesn’t always serve them. They need new insights and perspectives, and the best way I know how to do that is through coaching.
Each guest will have the option to play on their edge and get coaching around a challenge or a possibility they are working towards.
I'm playing on my edge here as well. I have typically reserved coaching for my high-performing, high-impact clients as closed door sessions.
It keeps my clients safe, and it keeps me safe.

Mid-way through the conversation (literally 45 mins into it), I realized that I was spending my energy and our time trying to position myself in a way that would impress, make her feel I would be a valuable asset, and come across as an expert she want to work with. The worst part is that I’m good at that, which meant I’d be getting pulled in for "opportunities" I didn’t really want. AND she wouldn’t consider me for the types of projects that actually align with me and my highest value and values. I had spent 45 mins slipping into a persona based not on who I was but rather who I felt she wanted me to be! More on the leadership strategies I used to navigate myself to a place that now has us exploring business opportunities that actually serve the people we want in ways that align with what we’re about in the video. -- One of the biggest challenges for Pioneer leaders is settling for people pleasing rather than authentic servant leadership. It makes sense: we’re multi -talented, multi-passionate, energetic and empathetic leaders. Part of what allows us to pursue these talents and passions amongst varied groups and people is our empathetic ability to pick up on what we feel others want to hear, give them that, and then use micro- indicators in body language, words, tone, and energy to guide us on what’s "right" in the conversation. That’s people-pleasing 101 and a tool I’ve used over and over as a leader to feel "accepted" and to "build connection". However, there are levels of leadership that go beyond acceptance, connection, and pleasing which include belonging, relationship, and serving. A Secret to Experiencing Joy

A really simple avenue for this is through *Appreciation*. Let’s experience #WorldJoy together right now by actively creating it in your world right now. The World Joy movement hereby declares the month of August as *Appreciation August*!!!! We’re about application over information, so let me share how you can participate in Appreciation August. 1) Let a different person each day know how much you appreciate them. 2) It should take you no less than one minute to express your sentiments of appreciation ABOUT THEM. Give them the gift of finding out more about themselves by sharing why you appreciate them as a person in your life - you can give examples to support afterwards. This is likely going to be the hardest part for people - both to give AND to receive. 3) share your appreciation you way- with a gift, a song, a letter, a drawing, a video, an act of service, an all-expense paid trip to a destination of their choice - I’m not going to limit you! Just make sure you actually convey what it is about them that you appreciate. Let’s share our experience of *receiving* appreciation from others using #appreciationaugust I’ll do my best to curate throughout the month as well.
