Jesus is to have first place (be preeminent) in every area of our lives. He is not an add-on to our lives, He is to be our lives—which should radically transform every area of life. In this new series, Nathan Johnson dives back into Ephesians and examines Paul’s practical examples of what it means to be a Christian (Ephesians 4:25–5:18).

A child often doesn’t see the great sacrifice of a parent. In fact, they more often than not, take their parent's care and attentions for granted and even grumble and whine with complaint when the parent falls short of perfection. It’s unfortunate, but few wake up from this childish slumber and actually see the magnificence of parental sacrifice. Of course, in a much bigger and eternal sense, most never wake up to see the magnificence of their Heavenly Father’s sacrifice on their behalf either. And that is why this episode, and this entire series, is of great value. It’s a fresh reminder to never take for granted the breath in our lungs and the precious people God has placed along the pathway of our lives.

God is always the same … and that is a very good thing. In this final episode of the Life Lessons series, Eric and Nathan discuss God’s primary attribute: His constancy and “always” nature. While this is an impossible standard to live in our own abilities, it IS possible through the empowerment of God’s Spirit within us. As believers, we are called to continually and intentionally live in the Living Word (Jesus) and the Written Word (Scripture). As we conclude this series on “Life in the Word,” Nathan exhorts us to do just that: live (abide) in the Word.

How can two men (Roosevelt and Taft) that have shared so much ideologically in common and have loved and cherished one another’s friendship for so long, suddenly let it all go?
