No matter how noble and sanctified an individual Christian may be, it remains true that nothing is more effective in causing their heart to long for the life to come such as suffering and sin.

Death is not our friend. Death is an enemy of Christ. It represents the just judgement of God for sin, and serves as a reminder that each of us should posses an urgency to be made right with God.

Christ does not promise comfort and ease in this life. He does not promise us marriage, children, or health. What Christ does promise is forgiveness of sins, freedom from God’s wrath, adoption as His children, and eternal life. Is this not enough hope for you?
