David Contorer became Executive Director of Hebrew Free Loan Detroit (HFL) in October, 2011. Since 1895, HFL has provided interest-free loans to Jewish people across Michigan who face financial challenges. Prior to HFL, David held philanthropic professional roles at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, the Jewish Federations of Houston, Philadelphia and Detroit. David also serves on the boards of the Marjorie and Maxwell Jospey Foundation and Detroit 2 Nepal Foundation. He is actively involved many Detroit charitable organizations that promote neighborhood revitalization, mentorship, education, equity and access to capital. David was born in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, participated in Teach for America and received his M.S.W. and certificate of Judaic Studies from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor. In December 2016, David completed his M.B.A. from the Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University in Detroit. David is happily married to Beth and has two wonderful daughters, Danielle and Maya. David has a passion for philanthropy and providing impact to help others help themselves to better lives—to improve neighborhoods and communities. Carolyn Grant Normandin is the Regional Director of the Michigan ADL (Anti-Defamation League). Normandin is responsible for leading ADL's Michigan Regional Office, which focuses on combating anti-Semitism and bigotry of all kinds through advocacy, community service and anti-bias education. Prior to joining ADL, Normandin was Senior Vice President leading Operations, Marketing and Sales at The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Normandin also worked for General Motors in a variety of areas, including the GM Foundation, Public Policy, Brand Communications and Diversity & Inclusion. Born in Detroit and raised in Southeastern Michigan, Normandin earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Michigan State University and she is a graduate of Leadership Detroit Cohort XXXVI. Normandin is on the Board of Directors for Alternatives For Girls and serves on the Executive Committee of the Coalition for Black and Jewish Unity. Normandin also serves as a Shiva Leader for Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. ADL is a leading anti-hate organization.
