Not just sometimes, not just daily...but for most of you, it's hourly. Dosed...without your consent. Day over day, minute over minute. When incredibly powerful artificial intelligence is paired with human behavior tracking algorithms, an army of engineers and billions of dollars, this is a war we lose. Unless, we wake up, armor up, and stand up for what's right.  If you've known deep down that something isn't right. That you should be able to live peacefully without a phone in your hand. That you sit anxiously waiting for the next 'fix' or 'hit' of IG or FB. You are going to be SHOCKED at the tricks and manipulation tactics that got you HERE. It's not your fault, sis. Friends, In 212 episodes, I can't believe we haven't had an episode on leadership. SAY WHAT? That's crazy-town. I've done you a disservice, sisters! Leading is HUGE. As moms, we lead our kids. As coaches, creators, and service-provides we lead in our business. As bosssssses, we lead teams, organizations, and employees. What is interesting is that the word 'leader' doesn't come to mind when you ask me what I'm good at. What's even more interesting is that I've actually been leading for over a decade since corporate. Wait, who am I kidding? I've been leading since I was five by bossing all my cousins and classmates around. Haha. I heard some incredible feedback recently from one of my P2P grads who said what impacted her the MOST from the program was watching me lead. That she saw humility and openness in my leadership and was moved to become more like me. (Que the tears.) That made me realize, I am a leader. And it's time to own it. Now, I've come a long way from the pushy, hustle-harder MLM days. The keep working never rest 'success coaches'. The lead from the front mantras. I've honestly gone through an evolution of leadership. What happened from then to here? How do I let ego and disappointment go when I receive hard feedback or even criticism? Friends, If you're in a space of seeking or looking for inner peace, calm perseverance, and a restful spirit, this one is for you. In a heavy season of...well...A LOT (could 2020 get any weirder?), God led me to a two-week study on 'REST'. I found answers to questions I didn't know I had. I found restoration and peace in my ever-seeking soul and spirit. I found a deeper understanding of WHY God asks us to lay down our idols and worldly focuses and seek HIM. I asked myself multiple times over the past two weeks: what do I need to lay down for the Lord? I prayed out, 'Father, what do You need me to let go of so you can have my full attention?' Oh, He answered me. Inside today's episode, we take a walk with living more Christ-like and uncover how to lay certain things down for the Lord. I discuss scripture with you that helped me lean into a new understanding of REST in my mind, business, life, and motherhood. I vulnerably share with you my plan for what God's calling me to lay down, and I hope that it inspires you to inventory how you are showing up in your life, what you're hiding behind, and what needs to change.
