Charles Hagood, DSc, MBA has overseen the introduction and implementation of improvement systems, quality and process improvement initiatives, transformations, and system design activities in numerous healthcare organizations including some of the largest non-profit hospitals, national systems, small critical access hospitals, clinics, physician practices, and large for-profit systems in the US and EU. Dr. Eleanor Glass, using improvement to reduce physician burnout
Dr. Glass is a third generation Dr. Glass! She is committed to and excited to start a Direct Primary Care practice in Cincinnati, inspired by the legacy begun by her grandfather, a primary care doctor in England. Dr. Glass is building a family medicine practice which supports both patient and physician in the pursuit of health.As a faculty member with the University of Cincinnati's Department of Family and Community Medicine, Dr. Glass served as a primary care doctor at The Christ Hospital Family Medicine Center. In addition, she broadened her clinical experience by serving as medical acupuncturist for the Center for Integrative Health and Wellness, teaching clinician in the newborn nursery and the office procedures clinic, and staff member at The Christ Hospital Urgent Care Center. Dr. Glass has been recognized with many awards for her studies and clinical work, including: Intern of the Year, Marjorie Grad Vockell Award for Humanism and Compassion in Clinical Care, Gold Humanism Resident as Teacher award, AOA induction, and as Preceptor of the Year. John Shook, Chairman Lean Global Network; Senior Advisor, Lean Enterprise Institute
John Shook learned about lean management while working for Toyota for 11 years in Japan and the U.S., helping it transfer production, engineering, and management systems from Japan to NUMMI and other operations around the world. While at Toyota's headquarters, he became the company's first American kacho (manager) in Japan. In the U.S., Shook joined Toyota’s North American engineering, research and development center in Ann Arbor, Michigan as general manager of administration and planning. His last position with Toyota was as senior American manager with the Toyota Supplier Support Center in Lexington, Kentucky, assisting North American companies adopt the Toyota Production System. Shook co-authored Learning to See, the book that introduced the world to value-stream mapping. He also co-authored Kaizen Express, a bi-lingual manual of the essential concepts and tools of the Toyota Production System. Ken Snyder, Executive Director of the Shingo Institute provides insight to the Shingo Model
Ken Snyder, the executive dean and chief administrative officer of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, joined the Shingo Institute as the executive director in 2015. Mr. Snyder has served as a member of the Shingo Executive Advisory Board for the past eight years and has intimate knowledge of the Institute and its history. Mr. Snyder has served as a member of the Shingo Executive Advisory Board since 2009, and as a Shingo examiner since 2010.
