113: Don’t Stay Stuck in the Suck

This new year started off with its fair challenges for us, including a stomach virus, breaks from work and cases of Covid (in both our households!), and more. Today, we want to share our thoughts about these experiences in pandemic parenting, as well as give you some tools that we’ve found helpful, including mindset shifts and exercises that you can start implementing in your daily life. If you’re exhausted right now, know that we’re right there with you, but that you don’t have to stay stuck in the suck! Embracing the challenges, surviving, and finding those little pockets of light where we can is going to help us all feel better through this time.Remember that our paths in life for a large part have been chosen for us, and time will keep moving on regardless of what is happening, but we’ve got to figure out how to make the most of it for ourselves, our families, and each and every person we meet! 112: The Matrescence: Your Process of Becoming a Mother

Motherhood can be hard for EVERY single one of us, and if you feel like you’re silently struggling in this area you are not alone. I’m so excited to be introducing you to Laura and Megan from The Matrescence, and if you’re not sure what this word means, don’t worry because we talk all about the meaning behind the name and the very personal mission of The Matrescence in this powerful episode! What Laura and Megan are doing in the world right now is so needed, because we all know how difficult it can be for mothers to find time, especially in a global pandemic, to take care of themselves. In this episode, they share the importance of prioritizing self-care for not only yourself as a mother, but for your entire family, and what you can do to begin using movement and exercise without the mom guilt that often comes with it. Laura and Megan reveal what they each do to overcome the common pitfalls that mothers face, like feeling the need to wear all of the hats and carrying the invisible load, while falling short in different areas of daily life, and so much more. This conversation provides real, actionable advice from real mommas, along with so many tools you can start using to improve your mental (and overall) health today!MEET Laura & Megan: https://www.instagram.com/thematrescence/10% off at BETTERHELP: http://betterhelp.com/herself20% off at THIRDLOVE: http://thirdlove.com/herselfLet’s connect!HERSELF SHOP: https://herself-podcast-favorites.myshopify.comHERSELF PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/herselfpodcastHERSELF INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/herselfpodcastMEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskieferMEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen
