This is the story of a woman from Sheffield in the North of England, who experienced a fairy flying out from a hedge near her home, in an area which had already felt particularly special to her. He has written a number of books on the subject including Explore Fairy Traditions  which won Katharine Briggs Award and the more recent Cloven Country: The Devil and the English Landscape Jeremy's new book Fairy Encounters in Medieval England: Landscape, Folklore and the Supernatural is a really great read. It's entertaining and wittily written. Supernatural encounters from primary source material are tied together throughout the chapters and also include stories related to documented miracles.
