063 Troy Eckert
Surfing Wild Waves into Coaching
In this raw and open conversation, with infectious enthusiasm Troy shares his journey from being a founder member of a super-successful clothing company, through some of life’s shit-storms, and into his first year in coaching.
It’s been a wild ride, one that has had him listen to his heart and change completely how he shows up in the world.
If you’re a relatively new coach, you’re transitioning or have transitioned from a previous career, or are passionate about living a coaching life, this one is for you.
Here’s a little more about Troy
Hailing from California Troy was introduced to the ocean and surfing at a very young age. In 1991 he was on his way to becoming a professional surfer when he was faced with a decision of surfing for a living or taking a leap of faith at a startup called Volcom. He chose the latter and ended up with the company for 20 years where he worked his way up to Global EVP of Marketing. In 2010 he left the company and shortly thereafter he was divorced.
In 2016 he started a men’s yoga clothing line called Kozm. At the beginning of 2018, he was feeling unfulfilled with running his company and made the tough decision to step away. Simultaneously he experienced a painful breakup, was confronted with mid-life and was feeling depleted and lost.
Soon thereafter he fell into depression which battered his immune system leaving him vulnerable for a health crisis. He then became ill and was diagnosed with mold poisoning from the house he was living in. Finally realizing the innate healing power within he soon learned how to become his own doctor and created the optimum environment (inside and out) to heal.
This experience ended up being a blessing which supercharged him in becoming a life coach where he helps people to remember the true essence of who they are and what they're capable of creating and achieving.

062 Karen DiMarco
Dropping the Mask to Wellbeing
Emerging from a snotting-nosed pool of tears, Karen has realised the freedom of living life without a mask, in full integrity of showing up as herself in all circumstances, which has also brought some immense health benefits.
In this wonderfully frank conversation Karen talks about play and experimentation, boobs and smoking, and gives us all a glimpse into the delights of simply showing up as yourself.
Here’s a little more about Karen DiMarco, RN, BSN, iRNPA
A nurse for 22 years with specialties in Intensive Care, Trauma, and Flight Nursing, Karen DiMarco (who is writing this in the 3rd person, which is weird, but apparently the standard for bios), had an experience in 2011 that she describes as “a coming home.”
Within weeks of that profound moment – on the floor of a closet in a puddle of snot and tears – her mental and physical illnesses, and a 26-year history of eating disorders, melted away.
Since then, she has been a catalyst for transforming the way we deliver and conceive of health care and wellbeing. Put simply, the mind and body are not disconnected, and when misunderstandings of the mind are healed, there is a profound healing effect on the body.
Karen is a total geek about science, and the connection between the mind and the body. Her insatiable appetite for all things spiritual and biological, and her ability to communicate her understanding in a scientific, sometimes hilarious, and always easy-to-understand way, is what makes her both a total weirdo and incredibly impactful as a healthcare visionary and transformational coach.
Hobbies include: collecting sea glass and coaching certifications; reading, research, yoga, and ‘playing with herself’ (nutrition, biological alchemy, meditation, & quantum-whatever); hanging-out with family — including her 3 daughters, a Tortoise, and a small dog named “Mr. Big” (all often seen, or spoken of, as backdrops to her 1-to-1 coaching, courses, writing, and speaking engagements.)

055 Molly Gordon
Relaxing Into Wisdom
What has someone choose to close down their existing business without knowing at all what they’ll be doing next? What’s the secret to being married for over forty years and creating a sustainable coaching business over twenty two years?
In this delightful episode, Molly shares some of her insights that have helped her develop and grow her coaching business, continue to be of service and help to her clients, and have fun in enjoying the longevity of her loving marriage.
Here’s a little more about Molly:
By 1996 Molly Gordon had been a waiter, a writer, an editor, a business manager, and a full-time artist. She had a penchant for Jungian studies, the novels of Dorothy Sayers, and Improv. After closing her fiber arts studio, Mollycoddles, she agreed to help a few friends with their businesses. Before long, they were coming to see her weekly, not only with business issues, but also with life questions.
Molly didn’t know what to call what she was doing. It wasn’t consulting, and it wasn’t therapy. All she knew was that her clients became more engaged, confident, and pro-active in their lives and work. They were living into their dreams.
One day a client sent an article from Newsweek about coaching. Attached was a sticky note saying, “This is what you do.” And she saw that her variegated past had been the perfect training ground for what became her life work.
Twenty years and a substantial amount of training later, Molly is a Master Certified Coach, a Certified Mentor Coach, an assessor in the International Coach Federation (ICF) credentialing process, and an instructor at University of Miami (Coral Gables) Professional Coaching Certificate Program, 7 Paths Forward, and Coach Masters Academy.
In 2010 Molly encountered the teachings of Sydney Banks, commonly known as the Three Principles. She recognized in Syd’s insights the source code for effective coaching: human beings are part of an infinite intelligent life energy, and as such, they are inherently whole, creative and resourceful. Molly is now on a path to incorporate the Principles into the International Coach Federation (ICF) definition of coaching and mentors ICF-oriented coaches to integrate the Three Principles into their work.
