Episode 39:Chip Design and Software Development Integration – 2 Top Stocks to Watch Right Now (AVGO & CRWD)

The semiconductor and computing technology industry is undergoing a major transformation. As chips become more complex, the need for closer integration between chip design and software development is becoming increasingly important. This is where two top stocks, Broadcom (AVGO) and CrowdStrike (CRWD), come in. Broadcom is a leading provider of semiconductor products for a wide range of applications, including data centers, networking, and industrial automation. The company is investing heavily in new chip technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, to help its customers develop more efficient computing infrastructure and develop more innovative products. They are expected to acquire cloud computing software leader VMWare (VMW), and this marriage between cloud computing infrastructure and semiconductor company will be complete. CrowdStrike is a cloud-based security company that provides protection against cyber threats. Overall, CrowdStrike's use of high-end chips to accelerate software development provides a more comprehensive and effective security solution. By leveraging the capabilities of both software and hardware, CrowdStrike can help to protect organizations from a wider range of threats. Together, AVGO and CRWD are at the forefront of the chip design and software development integration movement. This tighter integration is essential for the future of computing technology, as it will help to create more powerful and efficient products. In this video, we will take a closer look at Broadcom and CrowdStrike and discuss why they are two of the top stocks to watch in this space. We will also explore the future of chip design and software development integration and how it will impact the technology industry. Episode 37: Nvidia's Secret AI Business (NVDA), TSMC Stock, and 1 AI Chip Stock's Dismal 2023 (AMBA)

Mellanox was a little-followed acquisition that Nvidia made in 2020, and it's now paying off big time. Nick and Kasey do a little digging and discuss just how much of an effect that the acquisition has had on recent earnings. TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing) is a key chip manufacturer and system packaging partner for NVIDIA, so that means its growth will be tied to the biggest AI chip designer, right? Well, maybe, but not just yet. Why is that? Computer vision chip designer Ambarella had a lackluster earnings update, and the outlook for the second half of 2023 was pretty bad. A few months ago, we said this stock was on our watchlist. It appears elevated inventory, and perhaps intense competition from peers like indie Semiconductor, is eating into Ambarella's progress. With the company once again moving on from earlier design work to focus on a new trend (computer vision AI inference), we're no longer interested here at Chip Stock Investor. All this and more in this episode of Chip Stock Investor. Content in this video is for general information or entertainment only and is not specific or individual investment advice. Episode 36: 2 Top Semiconductor Stocks That Are A Better Buy Right Now Than Nvidia?

Marvell, or as we affectionately call it, “Baby Broadcom,” released earnings last week and had a significant decline from last year. Data center sales dragged down the numbers, with automotive being the only standout star segment. But Marvell Technology has made some advances and expects, of course, AI to swoop in and help out in the coming quarters. Does that put it on our buy list? Allegro Microsystems is an magnetic sensing and power chip specialist, and that would seem to make it poised for growth in the coming years. This is especially so with the auto industry needing more and more chips in each vehicle, especially as legacy automakers transition to EVs. However, the company is making a spendy acquisition. How do we feel about this stock, and will we add it to our portfolio? Check out this episode of Chip Stock Investor to learn about the above topics and more! ☕☕☕If you feel so inclined, please show your support here by fueling our caffeine addiction 👇 https://ko-fi.com/chipstockinvestor Content in this video is for general information or entertainment only and is not specific or individual investment advice. Episode 35:2 Stocks With Fantastic Compound Growth Potential, and 1 Stock That May Not Be Long For This World

Synopsys is a leader in EDA (electronic design automation) software and has had great growth over the past decade. The company will have a new CEO in 2024, one that has been at Synopsys for decades. Synopsys also has a segment focusing on software verification and security. What do these changes mean for the company and is it a stock you should be interested in learning about? Palo Alto Networks has been under CEO Nikesh Arora for 5 years now, and has certainly turned things around. Palo Alto Networks has gone from a traditional hardware-based company to a full-blown software-based platform with AI (security automation) woven throughout its services. While the stock isn’t cheap, is it worth considering as a top cybersecurity buy? Sentinelone is a small-cap stock that we had added to our small-cap basket earlier this year, and it's looking like SentinelOne may not be there for much longer. Reports emerged the high-growth endpoint cybersecurity business has itself for sale. Why? The answer reveals an investing risk that is often overlooked. Episode 34: The Most Important Thing to Know About Nvidia Stock Right Now

Nvidia obliterated financial expectations in the second quarter. Revenue was $13.5 billion, versus the $11 billion forecast provided three months ago. Shares are at all-time highs, and there is little sign of the business slowing down in the next year or so. But does that make Nvidia stock a buy? There are some important factors to consider and some recent news releases give us some insight into whether it's time to get off the sidelines, or to patiently sit on our hands and focus attention on other businesses making hay off of the generative AI supercycle. In this episode of Chip Stock Investor, we discuss a little bit of Nvidia stock history and what we see for the future of the business and the stock. Episode 33: 2 Super EV Chip Stocks to Buy Now, and 1 Terrible EV Chip Stock That Could Get A Lot Uglier

Wolfspeed, the self-proclaimed pure-play leader in silicon carbide (SiC) has captivated many investors based on its aggressive building of SiC manufacturing facilities and hot growth from the electric vehicle industry. The company is now currently building another facility in North Carolina to complete their vertical integration plans. But is Wolfspeed really the best company to invest in to capitalize on the nascent SiC chip industry? Nick and Kasey (again) discuss some glaring flaws investors need to be aware of.There are other companies that are also ramping up their production of these SiC chips, including Onsemi and STMicroelectronics. Chip manufacturing fabs are filling their new factories or retooling existing ones with new equipment from Applied Materials and Axcelis. Are these “picks and shovels” plays a better buy right now? Chip Stock Investor discusses these topics and more on this episode! ☕☕☕If you feel so inclined, please show your support here by fueling our caffeine addiction 👇 https://ko-fi.com/chipstockinvestor Content in this video is for general information or entertainment only and is not specific or individual investment advice. Episode 30: Nvidia’s AI Chip Breakthrough, Meta AI Fortunes, and Universal Display Readies For Huge 2024 Growth

Nvidia’s SIGGRAPH event last week held a host of releases and details of upcoming tech. We discuss two of the highlights from the event in this episode of Chip Stock Investor. The first, Nvidia is teaming up with Hugging Face to bring AI infrastructure to the masses, and the second the new GH200 supercomputer with HBM3e memory. What do these two updates mean for investors? Meta will be a huge benefactor of Nvidia’s supercomputers, especially when building out the Llama 2 AI algorithm. This AI system will be open source and allow anyone to design their own AI apps and systems. Which of these two companies is the better buy right now, Meta or Nvidia? Universal Display may not come to mind when you think of a semiconductor company, but it most surely is. OLED technology has a ton of room for growth, especially with the addition of blue phosphorescent emitters added to the stack. Universal Display has outperformed its peers in the past. Can it keep that up? All this and more discussed on this episode of Chip Stock Investor. ☕☕☕If you feel so inclined please show your support here by fueling our caffeine addiction 👇 https://ko-fi.com/chipstockinvestor In this video we used data, charts and KPI's from our friends at Main Street Data.
