John 3:2, 16-19, 1John 3:1, & 1John 4:19 All of our readings have something in common....they speak of God's love for us. We are reminded of God's promises that hold true even when we do not feel it. The kids think about what having a bad day feels like and we discuss how feelings are important but sometimes, they can trick us to forget the truth. This is where we turn to our Bibles and remind ourselves the truth of just how much God loves us regardless of if the day we are having feels like a good one or a bad one.  Thanks for listening! Luke 4:1-13  This week we will learn a different lesson from Jesus being tempted in the desert. This is part 2. We hear the crafty devil tempting Jesus with power & fame. Jesus doesn’t fall for the lie. He knows true joy and happiness comes through God not things or status. He knows serving God is more important than power and fame. The kids will be reminded that God made all kinds of good things we get to enjoy, but the problem comes when we want to have that thing way more than we want to love and worship God. Luke 4:1-13 This is part 1 in our short series where we find Jesus being tempted in the desert by the devil. We will learn that  the devil is always a slick and slimy one trying to twist God's words. The devil tries to tempt Jesus into proving that He really is God's son. Of course Jesus is God's son! Jesus knows this truth and does not need to prove anything to the devil so He does not fall for it. We learn that we too can remember the truth of whose we are: we are loved children of God. Colossians 3:15-17 & 23-24 Today's story reminds us that in EVERYTHING we do, we can do it for God. Joshua 6:1-21 We hear God telling Joshua to knock down the strong wall of Jericho using......the sound of trumpets?! HUH? I wonder if Joshua thought this request a little odd. God asked Joshua to do something ..that may have seemed almost impossible. Maybe it wasn’t easy for him to obey b/c of this. We will hear if Joshua ends up trusting God and obeying even when it doesn’t make sense.
